Growing Baby

Ava is growing up so fast. I can't believe how fast she learns to do things. Here are a couple of things she has learned to do in the last few weeks:

Ava loves her high chair. She thinks she is such a big girl in it. I put down a bunch of cereal treats on the tray and she immediately learned that she can pick them up. I am so proud of her because she takes her small little finger and thumb and tries her hardest to get that treat in her mouth. Most of the time she gets a treat in both hands so that she can constantly be feeding herself! This is a funny face that Ava has been pulling lately. She thinks she is so funny! She makes 'oooo' noises as she does it and mostly does it when she gets excited.
My baby is so smart because when we pull this face at her she mimmicks us and does it back. I love that she is starting to play with us and laugh with us!!

She did it!!

Ava had her 6 month checkup last week and we learned that she had lost an ounce since her four month appointment. It is not too big of a deal considering how chubby she was and still is. The doctor says that she does need to gain weight though so I need to try and get her to take a bottle after I nurse her. Ava has always hated the bottle and especially hated formula. My mom came over the other day to help me give her a bottle and she was here for seven hours and Ava was starving but wouldn't take a bottle. Well that night she took a bottle of my milk from me, yesterday she took a bottle with sugared formula, and today I gave her another bottle with a little less sugar and she took it!! She only drinks about 1.5 oz. but that is good enough for me. It is so funny how things like this make me so proud of her!!

Our New Xterra!!

We got a 2006 Nissan Xterra and we LOVE it!! We found such a great deal that we couldn't pass it up. We have been looking at '00 Xterra's but haven't found the one we liked. When we test drove this one we knew it was the one!! We are going up Butterfield canyon tomorrow on our first little family excursion!!

Ava Sitting Up!!

Ava is just starting to sit up!! It is soooo cute and she thinks she is such a big girl!! I love this picture because it captures one of those sweet open mouthed smiles that I love. And look at those popeye arms!! She is soooo strong!! Or maybe she is just a little chubby :) I love my little cupie doll baby!!

Twilight Series

I just finished reading the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer and I absolutely LOVED every minute of it!! I don't think I have ever liked a book or characters so much. I have to admit that I have a huge crush on Edward. I have really enjoyed this whole vampire/romance thing! I am usually not into mythical creatures and all but Stephanie has a very interesting way of portraying the vampires and werewolves!
