A few weeks ago we went camping in Southern Utah (see last post) and on our last day there Ava's body was covered in
HIVES. I figured she was allergic to sagebrush or some other plant that we were around. When we got home I washed
EVERYTHING so that her hives were sure to go away. Even after that her hives continued showing themselves for about a week. The doctor told me that we needed to watch what she was eating so that we could figure this allergy out. Well the hives went away for about
TWO WEEKS and all of a sudden she got hives all over her body yesterday. To put the
cherry on top she is now coughing, wheezing, and struggling to breath...this is why we are up at 2 AM...because she is struggling to breath and I am not letting her out of my sight. It is getting worse and I am so frustrated because I can't, for the life of me, figure out what is causing this. It could be a food allergy...the only thing I can think of is maybe
carrots. She had carrots twice on our camping trip. She didn't break out the first time she had them and the second time she had them she didn't break out until the next morning. And she had a few bits of carrots yesterday and a couple hours later she had hives...BUT...this was also after her nap with her
PILLOW. Something might be on her pillow from when we were camping...so I'm chucking that at this moment! The rest of her bedding is in the washer...with no detergent or fabric softener...I just can't chance her reacting to
ANYTHING! My guess is the pillow cause the carrot allergy just isn't making sense. So if my guess is right then I'm happy we figured that out but we still haven't figured out what the heck is in her pillow that is causing this!! I really hope that it is her pillow so that the poor thing can get some
SLEEP!!P.S. Thank goodness for blogs where frustrated moms can
VENT!
