A few weeks ago we went camping in Southern Utah (see last post) and on our last day there Ava's body was covered in HIVES. I figured she was allergic to sagebrush or some other plant that we were around. When we got home I washed EVERYTHING so that her hives were sure to go away. Even after that her hives continued showing themselves for about a week. The doctor told me that we needed to watch what she was eating so that we could figure this allergy out. Well the hives went away for about TWO WEEKS and all of a sudden she got hives all over her body yesterday. To put the cherry on top she is now coughing, wheezing, and struggling to breath...this is why we are up at 2 AM...because she is struggling to breath and I am not letting her out of my sight. It is getting worse and I am so frustrated because I can't, for the life of me, figure out what is causing this. It could be a food allergy...the only thing I can think of is maybe carrots. She had carrots twice on our camping trip. She didn't break out the first time she had them and the second time she had them she didn't break out until the next morning. And she had a few bits of carrots yesterday and a couple hours later she had hives...BUT...this was also after her nap with her PILLOW. Something might be on her pillow from when we were camping...so I'm chucking that at this moment! The rest of her bedding is in the washer...with no detergent or fabric softener...I just can't chance her reacting to ANYTHING! My guess is the pillow cause the carrot allergy just isn't making sense. So if my guess is right then I'm happy we figured that out but we still haven't figured out what the heck is in her pillow that is causing this!! I really hope that it is her pillow so that the poor thing can get some SLEEP!!
P.S. Thank goodness for blogs where frustrated moms can VENT!

THAT POOR BABY!!!
Poor Ava. What a sad face. I just want to cuddle her. I can only imagine as her mommy how sad and frustrating that is for you. Good luck pinning that allergy down.
Ok, I HAVE to know how you got the "last update" thing under all your blog links. Can you PLEASE tell me? :) That would be so convenient to know, so I don't have to click on every one and wait just to see it hasn't been updated. You arer quite the clever girl when it comes to blogs!
Poor Aves! I hope you figure it out soon for your sanity and Ava's comfort.
Poor baby and parents! I hope you figure all this out - no fun. Our bodies are amazing things but sometimes I wish they came with an owner's manual to tell us what to do in every situation. Wouldn't that be nice!?! Good luck!
It can be so hard to figure out what the allergy can be. Keep benadryl on hand and limit her exposure to things. It's frustrating. It took my friend a year to figure out that her daughter is allergic to polyester. Good luck.
That would be very frustrating to not know what was causing that. I could picture myself pulling my hair out right about now if I was you. I hope by now you have figured out what was causing that and Ava is feeling okay.
Oh Ava, that is so sad. And sad for you too. I hate not knowing what is going on with little ones. Hope you figure it out.
Oooooo, that would drive me crazy especially if my baby was suffering from it.
Reason number 546 of why kids under 2 are so hard. they cant tell you what is wrong and it gets to be a big fat guessing game for moms
