Ava and I spent a lot of time outside today. I can't wait until it warms up a little more because Ava had a ball. We could have spend the whole day outside! I can't believe how warm it was outside...it felt so good! We still have a pile of snow that hasn't melted and it was bugging me...so I got a snow shovel and broke it up so that it would melt faster...I know it was a NERD moment but I really want it to MELT!! I got some cute pictures of Ava while we were outside too:

Hair Color
On Wednesday I was really daring and put streaks in my hair myself! I wanted them to be a little more blonde but I washed the dye out a little early. I actually think it was good that I washed it out because the caramel color looks good with brown. It's not a big change but enough and I was impressed with myself!! My plan is to go blonde this summer but I didn't want to go from dark brown to blonde at once! You can't even tell I streaked my hair from the front view! What do you think?

Hi Dad!
Ava Story......Whenever Christian calls home from work I let Ava talk to him on the phone. She is too interested in playing with the phone to listen to her daddy talking. She hates when I put the phone to her ear and would rather play with the volume buttons. Well yesterday she finally got it...she put the phone to her ear and said, "Hi dad." She loved the reaction she got from my mom and I and so she kept doing it. We were laughing so hard because it didn't seem like that should be coming out of a 10 month olds mouth!!

Christian really enoys attending Stevens Henager College. He will be there until May of 2009 and will have finished 90 credit hours by that time. The way the classes work is he has 2 classes a module (4 weeks). This means that he has a crazy amount of homework all the time!! Anyway, he just finished his first module and got a 4.0!! He worked really hard so I am not surprised but I am very proud of him!! Way to go sweety!

Dawn in the House
My sister-in-law, Dawn, makes darling purses, scripture cases, totes, etc. and sells them on etsy.com. Her purses are called D.I.T.H (Dawn in the House). They really are soooo cute! This one is Ava's diaper bag and I am in love with it! I just wanted you all to see how talented my sister-in-law is. She has way cute fabrics and does such a great job! I love having a cute diaper bag instead of a backpack ;)

Valentines Day Fun
We had a lot of fun on Valentines's Day! I made HUGE sugar cookies that were sooo yummy. I am not very good at making cookies so I was impressed with myself. While I made the cookies Ava ate them. She was in heaven. I don't think she has ever enjoyed a food more than these cookies. She ate a whole cookie by herself!
Then Ava made her daddy a Valentine's card. I have been wanting to get her hand and foot prints so I decided to put them in her dads card. It was a huge mess but luckily I was prepared. Ava thought it was so funny that she was covered in black ink! She also enjoyed the bath to clean it all off!!
This is what Ava's card to her daddy ended up looking like. There are also three other pages not pictured with a poem, a picture of Ava and a page with I LOVE YOU DADDY! It turned out really cute.
My mom got Ava a bag with treats and Ava was so excited. I love that about her - she gets so excited when people give her things even though she has no idea what it is!
Later that day the doorbell rang and on the doorstep were Valentines for Ava and I from Christian. He got Ava a cute Classic Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal with a card. She loves stuffed animals so it was, of course, a hit! He got me a really cute shirt and card that I LOVED.
For dinner we got Applebee's To Go and enjoyed a nice dinner at home. We rented "Martian Child" but Ava decided she didn't want to watch it so we will be doing that tonight.
We had such a nice time and I love any occasion when we can do these kinds of things together!

What Next???
I don't know what to think of this....Google has a new thing called "Street Views" and it is crazy how much stuff is available at our fingertips. If you go to http://www.google.com/ and search your home phone number then your name and address will come up. Not only that but you can click on the "map" link to the right and a map will come up that shows where you live. Now this is the crazy part...When the map comes up a picture also shows up of your house!! This is not taken from a satellite someone actually drove down the streets capturing the houses through picture or video. I searched my in-laws house and you can see my mother-in-law walking out of her house. You can pretty much drive down the street on the computer. I thought GoogleEarth was cool and now this came along.
I don't know if this is a good or bad thing? Some people in my family have already removed their numbers from this service. If one of their kids gives out their phone number anyone could find out where they live! It if fun to play around with this...What do you think? Is this program a good think or is it a little creepy??

Only in Utah
The reason I am posting this is because I once witnessed something very similar, minus the cops and jail! We are not all like this but sometimes driving gets the worst of us!!
A man was being very closely tailgated by a woman on Foothill Boulevard in Salt Lake City. Suddenly, the light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the intersection crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman slammed on the brakes and really leaned on the horn. She opened her window, stuck her hand out and made that familiar gesture, all the while screaming in frustration as she missed
her chance to get through the intersection before the light had turned red.
As she was still in mid-rant, she heard a tapping sound on her window and looked up into the face of a very serious police SLC Police Officer.
He ordered her to exit her car with her hands up. He took her to the Police Station where she was searched, fingerprinted, photographed, and placed in a cell.
After a couple of hours, another Policeman approached the cell and opened the door. She was escorted back to the booking desk where the Arresting Officer was waiting with all her personal effects. He said, "I'm very sorry for the mistake. You see, I pulled up behind your car while you were blowing your horn, flipping the guy off in front of you, and cussing a blue streak at him. I also noticed the 'Choose The Right' license plate holder, the 'Families are Forever' bumper sticker, the 'Follow Me to Sunday School' bumper sticker, and the chrome-plated Angel Moroni emblem on the trunk."
"Naturally, I assumed you had stolen the car."
Funny huh? I once saw a woman being similarly stupid and then I saw a CTR sticker on the back of her car...I laughed and told myself I would never put a religious sticker on the back of my car for that reason!!

Four
I had tons of fun scrapbooking last Friday! It was nice to catch up with friends from my old ward....and that is what I mostly did! I scrapbooked from 6-12pm and only got 4 pages done!! Well we all eat our Cafe Rio first and then we start scrapbooking!! I am really looking forward to going next month. I forgot how much I LOVE scrapbooking. I am doing Ava's book right now and I think I am being too much of a perfectionist because I want to redo all of her pages!! I keep thinking I could do better but who knows?! This is what I have done so far...I kept a couple out because I do not like the pages!! The pictures stink because I had bad lighting but let me know what you think anyway!

Night out
Every month I go scrapbooking with some friends from the last ward I lived in. Well I shouldn't say every month because the last time I went was probably September!! I have just been busy and have wanted to spend time with Christian and Ava. Well my friend finally talked me into going this Friday and I have to admit that I am very excited! I am really looking forward to getting some stuff done. Before Ava was born I told myself that I would keep up on her scrapbook! What a joke ;) Let's see...Ava's scrapbook is finished through my baby showers...like 7 pages! So I have hundreds of pictures of Ava (I'm not kidding I seriously have hundreds) and I have not even begun to scrapbook her life. A lot of people don't want to waste their time scrapbooking because it can seriously be a waste of time...why not just put my pictures in an album with a little description right? Well I feel that it is a waste of my talent if I didn't do Ava's scrapbook. I think I'm pretty good at it and I love doing it it is just a matter of when I can find the time. So this Friday I am paying $12.00 to scrapbook from 5pm-12am at Heartland Paper in Taylorsville. Heartland provides treats, drinks, and scrapbook supplies so Friday night I am going to veg, drink soda, and totally enjoy myself!! If any of you don't have plans on Friday night you should come have fun with me!

Helpless
What a week!! Poor Ava is still sick :( I feel so helpless...I feel like I can't even comfort her. Today is the first day since last Wednesday that Ava hasn't had a fever. Poor thing has been miserable. In the midst of all of this she got another tooth, which I am sure added to her fever. We finally got her on antibiotics for an ear infection and so I hope she starts feeling better!
So last night she woke up screaming and nothing I did would console her. She was just crying in pain. This went on for an hour and then all of a sudden she passed SO MUCH GAS!! I am not joking when I say that as soon as she did that she was out like a light! It was so sad at the time but now I find it kind of funny!
The one really great thing about all of this is that Ava actually cuddles with us. She is too wiggly to normally cuddle with and now she will cuddle for an hour and I LOVE it!!
